Give Them the Tools to Succeed
When hiring a completely remote employee, you will have to make sure that they have the right tools in place to do their job. Assume that they do not have a home computer, monitor, mouse, journal, pens, and more. Like sending them a care package of goodies, send your new employee a tech-focused care package.
This tech care package should include both things that your new employee will need to do the job, but also tools that will make their job easier. Your new employee may need a new computer, mouse, external keyboard, second monitor, charging cables, or laptop case, just to name a few.
Also, be sure to communicate with your IT department to ensure that your new employee has their accounts set-up and ready to go.
